Group Finance Manager Job Description
Marcilly Recruitment is working with a fast-growing, high-level business intelligence and risk management firm headquartered in London. They are seeking a Group Finance Manager to work across their three separate companies. The firm has a fantastic culture, you will be part of a great team who are driven leaders in their field. The group is made up of three separate companies. One focusing on providing clear, accurate, and insightful intelligence to assist companies, law firms, and other clients in navigating obstacles and threats at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels. Another provides intelligence-led global specialist risk advisory and security services to enable clients to operate effectively in challenging or complex environments. The third is the newest division and an emerging leader in impartial financial risk management consultancy, specialising in FX, Interest Rates, and Commodity markets, working with treasury departments and fund managers to offer independent, technical expertise needed to enhance their risk management functions.
Finance Manager: The Opportunity

As the Group Finance Manager / Group Financial Controller, you will have the ability to lead finance responsibilities across the group, gaining exposure to all aspects of financial management, from strategic oversight to hands-on accounting processes. Job Title: Group Finance Manager / Group Financial Controller
Location: Central London
Start Date: ideally ASAP – October 1st
Salary: Up to £90,000 – dependent on experience
Benefits: discretionary bonus; pension; 28 days holiday + bank holidays; EMI Option Scheme after a 12 month period
Finance Manager Responsibilities
Key Reporting Requirements (Internal)
- Weekly ‘Top-line’ financials and cashflow monitoring
- Control and updates of Group and x3 sub-company financial models
- Monthly trade data cleansing
- Monthly division and employee key performance reports
- Month-end executive management report updates – relating to financials
- Quarterly financial forecasting
- Quarterly and year-end Board pack financials
Key Reporting Requirements (External)
- Quarterly VAT returns
- EMI option scheme management and updates
- Annual Statutory Accounts preparation (in collaboration with external Accountants)
- Monthly FCA compliance (with support from an external advisor)
- Ad-hoc Companies House compliance (supported by CEO)
Other Accounting Processes (select line-items will be supported by the Group’s bookkeeper(s))
- Recording supplier invoices and expense claims in Xero
- Overseeing the management of online collection accounts – Stripe and GoCardless
- Recording credit card transactions in Xero
- Raising sales invoices in Xero and sending them to clients
- Recording bank transactions in Xero (bank feed already set up) and bank reconciliations
- Processing supplier and payroll payments
- Operating payroll in Xero
- Credit control
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Finance Manager Requirements:
- Professional finance qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) from a Top 10 accounting firm.
- Strong data manipulation and interrogation skills
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and processes
Finance Manager Additional Responsibilities:
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
- Assist evaluating potential acquisition targets and lead the financial due diligence process. Lead the integrate acquired companies into the Group’s financial systems and processes.
Special Projects:
- Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by the Group CEO/ provide financial expertise for strategic initiatives and business transformations.
