Senior Data Engineer - Azure

Avanti Recruitment is currently partnered with a very successful company, that has already become a new leader in their field with plans to leap-frog ahead of their competitors.

They are looking for someone to join them as the first Senior Data Engineer to play a pivotal role shaping the future of their data

The Role

As the first Senior Data Engineer, you'll be pivotal in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based data solutions. You'll be instrumental in:

  • Developing our data architecture
  • Managing merger-related data migrations
  • Ensuring data quality across our systems
  • Enabling advanced analytics to drive business decisions

You'll spearhead the data architecture and migration efforts, taking ownership of data migration processes during mergers and acquisitions. Your expertise will be crucial in designing scalable and efficient cloud-based data architectures that can effectively handle data ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of cloud data engineering experience, with a focus on Azure
  • Proficiency in Azure services: SQL, Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics
  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and database design
  • Proven track record in data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling
  • Azure certifications in Database Administration or Data Engineering
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Python/PySpark and MySQL on Azure
  • Additional Azure certifications (e.g., Fabric Analytics Engineer)
  • Knowledge of data visualization platforms (Tableau/PowerBI)

This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead an exciting project, they are paying up to £70,000 (DOE) plus a range of benefits including a company pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, buy more holiday option, your birthday off, death in service, enhanced family friendly policies. This is office based 4 days a week, 1 day of your choice working from home.
