Job Advert: Alternative Provision Quality Assurance Officer (Short-Term Assignment) Duration: 4 months Rate: £475 per day umbrella Working pattern: Average 3 days per week on-site in Alternative Provision (AP) settings across Swindon Our local authority client is seeking an experienced Alternative Provision Quality Assurance Officer to support the implementation of the Peopletoo plan and strengthen oversight of education delivered in AP settings. This short-term but high-impact role will work closely with the new AP Operational Lead and the Commissioning Team to ensure the quality, safety and appropriateness of education provided to children and young people (CYP) accessing AP. This is an urgent requirement as the LA must meet new government policy guidance and statutory duties relating to AP. Currently, SBC does not hold accurate or consistent information on CYP accessing AP, referral pathways, or the quality of provision—this role will be instrumental in addressing these gaps. Key Responsibilities Develop a comprehensive QA framework for AP settings across the local authority. Review, record and quality-assure the education offers across AP provisions, initially focusing on the local authority’s approved provider list.
