About theTeam  


TheTransport team is a challenging but fun team within HM Treasury,responsible for managing the costs of building, maintaining anddecarbonising the transport network as well as considering the roleof transport in boosting economic growth to level up communitiesacross the UK. We work collaboratively with the Department forTransport (DfT) and No.10 to meet our policyobjectives.

AbouttheJob  


Youwill:  


  • Leadon policy and spending strategy, working collaboratively withTreasury colleagues, and across government to deliver key aimswhilst maximising value for the taxpayer  
  • Develop and hone yourknowledge of the policy area, including keeping up to date onreporting in the media  
  • Play a keyrole in assessing and negotiating spendingsettlements

Ifyou are able to use evidence to support decision making and you arecomfortable giving advice and building strong working relationships- we want to hear from you You will need to be adept atprioritising a full workload, often reassessing to addressshort-term issues or problems while still making progress againstthe long termobjectives.
