We have an opening for a Claims Officer to join our client, a West Midlands based Local Authority. This is a high-profile post and would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has worked within Insurance Claims role, that is looking to gain experience of working for a Local Authority. Responsibilities:Ensuring all claims are notified to the claims handling system and records are accurate and up to date.Investigating all claims by way of assessing the information required and obtaining this from relevant team or other parties. In certain cases, on-site meetings maybe needed to assist the investigation process.Assessing evidence against allegations and legislation to determine whether legal liability will attach to our client.Providing your liability decision to claimants, their legal advisors or external claim handlers. You may also need to advise our team of the decision and explain your reasoning.Obtaining evidence to assist in evaluating quantum, this mat includes motor engineers report, medical reports and receipts etc.Obtaining evidence in relation to claimant solicitors’ costs, evaluate, negotiate, and agree settlement.Updating the claims handling system diary line with laid down procedures. Requirements:At least three years’ experience of handling a wide range of liability claims with an insurance company.CII Certificate of insurance or equivalent qualification.An understanding of the civil Procedure rules gained through qualifications or experience.Ability to communicate with variety of people.Pay rate: £16.26Duration: Temporary for six moths (could go on longer)Hours: Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)Start date: Immediate start
