Their capacities to undertake the complete process from design to manufacture, to installation and commissioning and then on to the maintenance of BEMS gives them the leading edge in the marketplace.


As part of the scope of works they often are asked to provide the enterprise building converged network to host all the control systems within a building.


The candidate will produce and develop detailed Network designs for Converged building networks delivered both as part of a wider project scope of works or as individual projects. This will involve coordinating with third parties sitting on the network to define IP and VLAN schedules. Once the design is approved the by the client the candidate will ensure the approved configuration is implemented and tested on the switches in the factory before being sent to site for install.


This flexible role will primarily be based in the Coulsdon office however, may require occasional travel to the project offices based in and around London.


Technical Requirements

The candidate must have the following experience:

  • Proven track record in delivering low-level network designs in the construction industry
  • Experience of coordinating design with the wider construction teams such as main contractors, sub-contractors, design team and client.
  • Experience producing engineering documentation such as IP schedules, rack elevations and patching schedules
  • Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies
  • Exposure to Cisco Meraki
  • A professional Network Qualification such as Cisco CCNA or another leading network manufacturer provider
  • Ability to engineer solutions to required budget and highlight possible commercial and technical risks.
  • Expertise of setting up switches
  • Ability to clearly detail and explain design concepts in front of the design and client teams and justify design decisions
  • Has relevant technical accreditations and qualifications.
  • Sound working knowledge of common network manufacturers such as Cisco, HP etc.

Additional Advantageous Experience Required

  • Understanding of cloud based IoT technologies
  • Experience with advising third parties on locking down and configuring their equipment to meet network security standards.
  • Experience with common building and IoT protocols such as Modbus, BACnet and MQTT.
