We are now recruiting for a Finance Director to form part of the Poole site management team. You will have full responsibility for the finance function, working closely with the Managing Director to develop and execute the Business Strategy.
You will take ownership of ensuring financial controls are in place, delivering financial targets in line with IMI Guidelines and ensuring compliance with UK regulations.
In addition to this as our Finance Director you will be responsible for:
- Lead the Finance function, driving a high-performance culture aligned with the IMI Way.
- Act as a Business Partner to the Poole site management team, contributing to business strategy.
- Support the Finance Leadership team in delivering the Finance Transformation strategy.
- Develop a transparent working relationship with the Regional CFO.
- Focus on development and succession planning of the local Finance team.
- Present financial data at a regional level.
- Oversee the IT and Despatch teams.
- Manage all financial reporting and audit requirements, ensuring timely submission.
- Produce accurate monthly financial accounts and annual budgets.
- Develop strategic objectives and plans, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Coordinate the annual external audit process.
- Implement and maintain a strong financial control environment.
- Ensure efficient cash management and robust forecasting processes.
- Review quotation processes and contracts to improve financial returns.
- Align local accounting processes with Group policy.
- Maintain understanding and application of Standard Costing.
- Review and submit the Monthly Management Pack and related financial schedules.
- Perform variance analysis and conduct cost center reviews.
- Share best practices with IMI Finance teams.
- Participate in cross-functional projects.
- Ensure compliance with Direct and Indirect tax requirements.
- Support costings of new product development.
- Assist in creating business cases.
Critical competencies for success:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA or ACA) or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Proven track record in providing high quality, right first time financial accounts and analysis.
- Proven record in playing an active role in business partnering for growth.
- Proven ability to dig into the detail to get results, whilst maintaining a strategic view.
- Demonstrable ability to pick up new information and challenges quickly.
- Sufficient personal experience and stature to be able to quickly integrate into the management team.
- Intellectual capability in order to be a convincing and credible support to the management team.
- Experience of working within a result driven environment with skills in managing both core processes and bringing a creative and innovative approach.
- Experience of operating within a global manufacturing/technology business with a balance of working both strategically and operationally.
- Experience of working in a global organisation (adherence to business structures and global rules).
- Proven track record of Change leadership and of delivering results and improved performance combined with the ability to inspire and manage development activity through strong influencing ability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a desire to succeed with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Articulate with a high level of communication skills (written and oral) and presentation skills.
- Flexible with the ability to work to deadlines and the determination to see a job through to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Desirable Competencies for Success:
- Previous experience at FD level of £30m+ business.
- Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing operation.
- Previous experience of a valve business. Commercial, Nuclear and Defence
