Reimagine the possibilities.Your role and responsibilitiesAs a Facilities Assistant youll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the library ensuring it remains a safe clean and functional space for all users.On a typical day you might:carry out regular security patrols withinand aroundthe buildingmaintain security acting askey holder andassistingwithpublic order takingappropriate actionto ensure safety of users and staffsupport groups and organisations using rooms for hiremaintain high standards of cleanliness and presentationperform basic repairs and maintenance tasksmove goods stock and furniture as neededassist staff with activities and services throughout the buildingbe customer-orientated and achieve good customer relations.This is a physically active role that involves bending and lifting.You will needWere looking for someone who is:a visible and proactive presence in the buildingconfident in dealing with difficult or disruptive individualsskilled in basic DIY and maintenance tasksfamiliar with health and safety requirementsable to communicate effectively with a wide range of peoplecomfortable using IT systems including email and online forms.You can view a full list of requirements in theJob and Person Profile (Word).If you believe you can succeed in this role apply. The team collaborates closely with library staff volunteers community groups and other council services to maintain safe welcoming and well-maintained environments for all users.
