Job Title:Special AssistantPhysical Location:Kent Campus - Kent OHSalary:$42357 - $47156.00Basic Function:To provide specialized knowledge in an area related to higher education. Reports to designated supervisor.Additional Basic Function if applicable:We have three (3) openings. Position A is in College of Aeronautics & Engineering. This position will support the Director of Aeronautics and the Director of Engineering in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering. This position will support coordination of meetings managing calendars supporting personnel actions coordinating with other unit across the university and other support actions necessary for running a school.Position B is in Chemistry-Biochemistry and reports to the Chair. Position C is in Physics and reports to the Chair.Examples of Duties:Duties/essential functions may include but not be limited to the following:Coordinate or assist in development and implementation of a program or project. May oversee day-to-day operations of a program or project.Serve as liaison for area of specialization; answer questions and provide advice on issues related to area of specialization.Assist in analyzing information conducting research and developing and preparing reports related to area of specialization.Serve on various department division and University committees.May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.Perform related duties as assigned.Additional Examples of Duties if applicable:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and two years relevant experience; or associates degree and five years of business and/or academic experience; or seven years of business and/or academic experience.License/Certification:Knowledge Of:Personal computer applicationsSkill In:Written and interpersonal communicationAbility To:Apply policies and proceduresPreferred Qualifications if applicable:Assessments:Asterisk (*) indicates knowledge skills abilities which require assessmentsWorking Conditions / Physical Requirements:Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
