About Us:  

Apex Medical Academy Ltd ("Apex") specialises in longevity medicine education, providing CPD-approved and ACCME accredited courses to healthcare practitioners across a range of topics which includes: weight loss management & medication, supplements, health & hormones as well as general wellbeing and long-lasting life changes.

Apex Medical Academy Ltd ("Apex") is a Private Equity owned, newly founded organisation, launched in June 2024. We are first-to-market innovators in longevity medicine education. Following extensive research, we identified a significant knowledge gap and need in the medical profession for longevity education.  Apex has since built, tested and launched a brand-new training academy which provides structured, evidence-based education and training in longevity and hormone health to empower healthcare professionals in optimising patient health and extending health span.

We are now ready to expand APEX into global markets and are looking for several key roles to assist with our rapid international growth. It's a fantastic and exciting time to join us and help to shape this pioneering journey.

 Job Summary:  

We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer to join our newly formed senior management team who will lead the way in establishing our business as the market leader globally in longevity education and awareness. Under the direction of the board, you will be responsible for defining and executing a large-scale global growth plan and strengthening the company's brand and position in the market. You will identify opportunities to enhance research, product and brand awareness as we grow internationally.

You will report to the Managing Partner and be primarily responsible for the successful delivery of the business strategy set by the board including international growth and enhanced performance including sales, performance, brand and reputation.

This role will be very hands on initially so you will need to show flexibility to lead strategically and manage demanding stakeholders, and lead and develop a small new team through change.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the growth agenda, embedding clear business strategy as we expand into new geographical areas such as the USA, Australia and UAE. 
  • Oversee the implementation of appropriate product and package and pricing strategies that complement our wider strategic objectives
  • Oversee the development of an appropriate brand awareness campaign to maximise our reach and profile in global markets
  • Establish trusting relationships with the board and Managing Partner including developing clear communication channels where progress and challenges can be reported
  • Develop a clear set of individual and team KPI's which evaluate performance and regularly share metrics with the board/Managing Partner
  • Cascade the board/Managing Partner directives as tangible and engaging objectives across the organisation.
  • Oversee the development and implantation of an appropriate sales and marketing strategy that maximises global opportunities, utilising regional specific strategies where appropriate.
  • Optimise the education journey ensuring a focus on quality of experience/product and customer retention.
  • Ensure the development of quality metrics, data and KPI's so that progress can be accurately monitored and analysed for stakeholders, staff and board. Hold others to account for delivery against set targets
  • Ensure compliance with the necessary legislation, regulations and industry standards globally such as CQC, CPD and ACCME. 
  • Create strategic direction and translate progress or challenges to stakeholders
  • Create a high-performance culture and a dynamic team of experts to ensure maximum success and a highly effective bank of expertise.
  • Create robust budgeting, forecasting processes to enable analysis of trends and overall performance
  • Report executive summaries to the board of directors, providing strategic insights and recommendations.  
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, drawing from experience in developing and implementing new processes. 
  • Deliver some quick wins including profitability whilst simultaneously planning longer term success.

Skills you'll need:

  • Consistent Track Record of Leadership and delivery: Demonstrate a clear focus on meeting agreed business targets, priorities, and objectives - plus an ability to deliver & commercialise investment projects. You'll be an inspiring leader that others will follow, communicating a variety of the more complex issues and able to convey an inspiring vision and purpose. Able to implement and maintain an appropriate organisation structure with appropriate use of resources in response to changing demands.
  • Business strategy and model - Proven ability to shape strategy and continuously improve the business through the generation of new and practical ways of operating to solve problems and gain competitive advantage, particularly in a growth environment.
  • Gravitas: Highly confident in dealing with stakeholders on all levels, particularly with highly skilled medical experts. You will enable productive working relationships to ensure we obtain maximum input and value from everyone.
  • Risk Management & Control: You'll have experience in managing risk at a corporate level including ensuring there is a good understanding of risk management processes and clear reporting and escalation routes. You will be comfortable discussing and presenting risks to board level stakeholders.
  • Customer focus: Experience in optimising the customer journey and experience which increases customer loyalty and impacts the triple bottom line. You will have strong commercial acumen and think about the wider business benefit when making key decisions.

Skills we'd like:

  • Experience/interest in longevity medicine and health, with experience in directing complex initiatives and collaborations.  
  • Experience working to obtain CQC registration/host a CQC inspection.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills, demonstrated through experience managing high-growth teams and customer content strategies.  
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  
  • High levels of resilience and professionalism with an ability to tailor style to the audience.

Education and Experience:

·      At least 10 years in a senior management post with experience as a Managing Director/CEO within the healthcare sector

·      Experience in presenting/chairing senior level meetings including to board members.

·      Experience managing large budgets, resources and risk.

·      Regulatory experience, specifically working with Care Quality Commission.

·      A degree level education.
