Finance Assistant

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our clients rapidly growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and organised individual to contribute to a company that is at the forefront of their industry. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative, prioritise tasks, and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining honesty and trustworthiness.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage Financial Transactions: Oversee all financial transactions for both UK and overseas businesses, including processing purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders.
  • Maintain Accounts: Maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers, and ensure general ledgers are accurate.
  • Assist in Financial Returns and Reviews: Assist in the compilation of VAT and PAYE/Pension returns, conduct quarterly reviews of company accounts, and prepare files for bank and financial audits.
  • Manage Bank Reconciliations and Cash: Manage bank reconciliations, cash management, and aged debt management.
  • Cost Reduction and Ad Hoc Duties: Propose cost reduction strategies and perform ad hoc duties, analysis, and reports as requested.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Software and Technical Skills: Experience with accounting software, and competence with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Finance Knowledge and Analytical Skills: Solid understanding of basic finance and accounts payable/receivable principles, coupled with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication and Professionalism: Excellent English communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and a driven work ethic with a high degree of accuracy.
