The Opportunity:

We're thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a Healthcare Senior Project Manager to oversee capital projects in partnership with a trust in Blackburn and a PFI provider. You'll manage projects ranging from £500k to £3m, including:


  • Operating Theatre Refurbishments
  • A&E Department Renovations
  • Ward Conversions into Trust Headquarters
  • And More Each project brings the thrill of transforming live hospital environments


Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Craft detailed project plans with clear timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with the trust, PFI provider, hospital staff, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Budget Management: Keep a vigilant eye on budgets, addressing any financial variances promptly.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate potential risks and devise effective mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards of quality and safety, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and lead project teams, offering direction, support, and constructive feedback.
  • Contract Management: Oversee contracts with suppliers, contractors, and external partners to ensure smooth collaborations.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation and deliver regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Navigate changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, communicating effectively with all involved parties.
  • Site Attendance: Be on-site four days a week (Monday – Thursday) to drive project progress, with Friday as a flexible work-from-home day. Enjoy increased flexibility once fully integrated into the role.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are looking for driven individuals with healthcare project management experience, eager to tackle challenging and rewarding projects. Whether you're a seasoned Senior Project Manager or at the beginning of your career, we have roles to suit your level of expertise.


You'll bring a degree qualification in a relevant discipline and be a member of a professional institute such as RICS, CIOB, or APM (dependent on level). Ideally, your experience is derived from managing complex NHS Acute and Mental Health projects. However, this is not a dealbreaker; if you have a solid public sector background and bring the right attitude to learn, that will be considered too You should have a background in contract administration for both JCT and NEC contracts.
