Senior Front-End Engineer


My global Technology client is looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer with in-depth experience and expertise in modern web development, particularly with React, Next.js, and CSS. This position will play a crucial role in the ongoing development of a main website that attracts approximately 9 million visitors annually.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of the primary website, ensuring optimal performance, responsiveness, and an outstanding user experience.
  • Apply responsive design techniques to create seamless experiences across various devices and screen sizes, utilising clean, maintainable, and efficient CSS and JavaScript for visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Producing highly visual/interactive products
  • Implement best practices for code quality, including automated testing and continuous integration.
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to enhance website performance and ensure UI/UX design feasibility.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-8 years of hands-on development experience with semantic HTML, Sass/CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in modern front-end practices, including responsive typography, CSS grid layouts, and Flexbox alignment.
  • Advanced development experience with React and Next.js, with a focus on static site generation optimised for speed and reliability.
  • Experience producing highly visual/interactive products
  • Expertise in cross-browser and responsive implementation and testing.
  • Experience in Design Systems a plus, but not essential



The role is fully remote, with occasional travel to London, and is paying between £90k- £110k
