Progression opportunities are offered for the successful candidate upon completion of their apprenticeship and integration with the team.Starting salary 18000 per annum with the scope to increase and dependent on candidate experienceTraining to be provided:As an IT Support Apprentice you will be studying towards a level three ICT Support Technician apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is 22 months in length and will involve ongoing onsite training and mentoring from the Rocket Computer Services team combined with 25 days of off the job training at the PETA training centre in Cosham.About the role:What will my new role involveJoining the team as an IT infrastructure apprentice you will learn:Install and maintain computer hardware laptops audio/visual equipment and peripheralsRoutine administration including data backups and Active Directory maintenanceSoftware installation maintenance and upgrading in line with rocket development policyServer Network / Cloud Based Infrastructure supportAdministration and development of Internet Intranet Extranet and E-mail systems including learning platforms and websitesTo keep abreast of technological developments and encourage the use of ICT at all levelsTo support staff and students with the set-up and preparation of ICT equipment around clientsEssential skills:Could this be the ideal role for me To be considered for this role you must have:GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and mathsGood communication skillsHave a personable friendly and polite natureStrong customer service skillsBe confident in lone working as well as part of a teamHave a basic understanding of Operating Systems and Office applicationsA genuine interest in ICTBe able to pass an enhanced DBS checkDrivers license will be a requirement due to the nature of the role visiting client sitesDesirable skills:ICT qualifications are advantageousDesirable that you are able to self-manage your workload and work using own initiativeExperience using Windows Microsoft Applications Mac OS etc.About YouAbout UsRocket Computer Services Ltd are an established IT Support Company committed to providing high quality support across Portsmouth and Hampshire.
