Do you want to join a global drug development company that will train and develop youDo you want to work in a laboratoryWould you like to train as a Laboratory TechnicianAs one of the worlds premier Contract Research Organisations Labcorp Drug Developments mission is to help build a healthier and safer world by providing research services for a multitude of organizations.As a Laboratory Technician within our Genetic Toxicology team based at Alconbury near Huntingdon Cambridgeshire you will play an integral part in achieving our mission by providing assistance in the performing and data recording of any aspects of departmental assays both in vitro and in vivo where applicable in compliance with appropriate SOPs (standard operating procedures) GxPs (good practice) and regulatory guidelines.Whilst training you will learn a broad range of standard technical laboratory skills and techniques including how to work to recognised regulatory standards.The main responsibilities will include:Ensuring compliance by performing study work in accordance with Study Plans relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GLPMeeting deadlines by effectively planning and completing routine and assigned tasks in a timely mannerEnsuring quality through accurate data recording and performing QC checks following appropriate trainingEnsuring safe working practices in accordance with HASAWA and COSHH Identifying opportunities for continuous improvementsReporting any difficulty uncertainty or unexpected finding to the Study Director and/or senior Genetic Toxicology personnelOperational responsibilities:Learn a broad range of standard technical laboratory skills and techniquesTake responsibility for routine tasks e.g. maintenance of cell stocks reagent/media preparation calibration checks slide preparationConduct regular stock takes in relevant laboratory areas and order appropriate lab productsShow familiarity with the basic study set-up preparation of study files and other documentation for study use e.g. controlled formsTo learn to conduct GLP studies: Studies that may be performed include but not limited to:- Ames test In vitro/In vivo micronucleus test Chromosome aberration assay Mouse Lymphoma assay COMET assay microbiology and in vitro safety assessment study types Education / Qualifications:Educated to BSc level in a relevant life science subjectSkills / Experience:Team working skillsEffective communication skillsAbility to follow instructions with excellent attention to detailPrevious laboratory support experience is desirable with knowledge of aseptic techniques and GLP advantageousIf you are looking for a role where you will receive first class training and have the opportunity to develop and progress then we would like to hear from youDue to the remote location of this site there are no public transport links available.Labcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer:Labcorp strives for inclusion and belonging in the workforce and does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
