We have an opportunity for a highly motivated Research Chemist to join our clients team in Bracknell


We are looking for someone eager to kick-start or further grow their career in organic synthesis in a cutting-edge research environment.


The successful candidate will have the chance to work on multi-disciplinary projects and learn from world-class scientists in the field of Agrochemistry.


Our clients goal is to create next-generation weed control products, and we welcome applications from candidates with a variety of academic and industrial backgrounds. Previous experience in Agrochemistry is not essential, as our client provide a comprehensive training package.


The Chemist we are looking for should have a MSc or BSc in Chemistry (or a related discipline), proficient chemical knowledge and understanding, particularly in synthetic organic chemistry, and exemplify safety standards.


They should also be able to independently plan, organise and prioritise their own time to achieve a high level of productivity, work collaboratively as part of a diverse team to achieve project goals, and have effective communication skills to clearly present scientific results and ideas to colleagues.


In this role, the successful candidate will execute safe, sustainable, and effective synthetic routes towards target molecules, partnering with support platforms (e.g. automation, purification, analytical) to maximize efficiency. They will collaborate within teams to design efficient synthetic routes and troubleshoot to solve synthetic chemistry problems, build knowledge and expertise in modern synthetic methods and technologies through continuous personal development, and proactively contribute to the improvement of laboratory safety, efficiency, and ways of working.


This role offers a number of opportunities for growth through additional skills and specialisms, supported by training and shaped by future development preferences. These include, but are not limited to, expertise in synthetic methodologies or technologies such as process chemistry and scale-up, automation, flow chemistry, photochemistry, electrochemistry, and specialised purification techniques, and the use of digital synthesis tools and data analysis techniques to support scientific work.
