Teacher of PE - Full-time, Fixed-Term


Robert Gordon’s College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring full time temporary PE Teacher to contribute to its sector leading and exciting 3-18 PE and Sports Curriculum and Co-curricular programme.  The post is available from August 2024 and will continue until the end of the 2024/2025 session, in the first instance. Applications welcome from probationers and newly qualified teachers.


The remit for the post is as follows:

  • Teaching Physical Education from Nursery to S6;
  • Implementing National Guidelines 
  • Actively involved in co-curricular activities and full participation in Saturday sport. 
  • Reporting and parent liaison if required 
  • Tracking and monitoring
  • Contribution to the wider school community 


The PE Department has 14 members of Physical Education staff including the Head of Physical Education, an Assistant Head of Department and a Director of Sport. In addition there are a number of Sport coaches,  swimming instructors and Ad-hoc coaches who all contribute to the delivery of the core curriculum for which the Head of PE is responsible, and the Co-Curriculum for which the Director of Sport is responsible.  

PE and Sport is a major part of life at RGC. As well as our PE, Swimming, and S&C facilities at our Schoolhill campus in the city centre, we have a 39-acre PE and Sport ground at Countesswells to the west end of the city. We are ambitious to invest in our PE and Sport facilities at both Schoolhill and Countesswells in the next few years.

Applicants should be registered or eligible for registration with the GTCS and will be expected to contribute to the extra-curricular activities of the College and take a full part in school life. Salaries are based on SNCT scales and enhanced by the RGC allowance, currently 3%.
