Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom MAC Clinical Research Full time

MAC is a full-service global Contract Research Organisation (CRO). We also own a network of research sites. Our mission is to serve with honesty and integrity to make an outstanding contribution to human health.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior SAS® Programmer to join our established team.

At MAC we believe in giving our SAS® programmers room to grow, you will not be stuck on a single indication, you will be exposed to studies you may not see elsewhere, which include studies focused on psychedelics, pain management, dermatology, bowel conditions, depression, substance use and many others.

Within the Programming department at MAC we openly encourage new ideas, “improving the wheel” is something we welcome with open arms. If you have ideas, you have always wanted to bring to the industry, we would love to help you bring it to reality. We have exciting studies but also engaging projects to develop the department, from system validation, macro development, programming standards development, to anything you want to present.

We are looking for an experienced SAS® Programmer with lead experience. Leading is the focus of the role, however if you have ambitions to become a technical lead and want to help develop our standards / macros, or conversely you are more interested in line management this role extends to this too. The driving factor here is you. Additionally, you will be given the ability to mentor our junior talent via our very successful SAS® Academy, taking our new programmers to competent and confident SAS® Programmers.

Requirements

  • Educated to Degree level in relevant subject (Mathematics, Computer Science or similar).
  • 3-5 years’ experience with SAS® programming within the clinical industry.
  • Working experience of using and implementing the CDISC SDTM and CDISC ADaM standards.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in leading studies from data extraction through to TFL outputs.

Desirable

  • Experience with R or Python programming.
  • Define.xml knowledge.

BENEFITS:

  • Competitive salary in keeping with pharmaceutical industry standards that will reflect experience
  • Health Insurance
  • Free onsite parking
  • 25 days annual leave (increasing in increments to 30 days after 6 years' service)
  • Your birthday off work

MAC Clinical Research invites applications from highly motivated candidates, with a desire to fulfil their full potential. You will be working with an organisation that sees you as an investment and is keen for you to achieve your career aspirations.

Please email maccareers@macplc.com should you require any special arrangements or reasonable adjustments to be made throughout this selection process. This will enable us to accommodate your request as necessary.
