About the role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial individual to join an emerging investment firm and work closely with our founders. The founding team includes complementary backgrounds in alternative investing, entrepreneurship, and wealth management: they are founders of billion-dollar businesses and senior employees/executives from top investment firms, financial institutions & scale-ups (inc. Sequoia Capital, Goldman Sachs, Revolut).


As Founder’s Associate, you will gain exposure to all verticals within an investment office and contribute to Spheres’s growth. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, with a focus on investment activities and ecosystem & fundraising efforts. You will also co-lead long-term strategic initiatives in close collaboration with the founding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive self-starter with a strong interest in cross-asset class investments and who will relish the opportunity to build their own personal network within the European entrepreneurial ecosystem.


Depending on your personal learning curve, you may have the opportunity in the long term to develop yourself into a full investing, platform, or operational leadership role at Spheres.


Responsibilities

(A) Investments

  • Assist in the identification, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities across venture, growth, and private equity. These will include both direct & fund investments to implement flexibly an opportunity set among a range of verticals.
  • Conduct market research, industry analysis, and financial modeling to support investment analysis.
  • Prepare investment memos, presentations, and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.


(B) Ecosystem & fundraising efforts

  • Support the expansion of Spheres’s ecosystem, leveraging the team’s network and various data sources to identify promising European entrepreneurs across different domains, stages, and jurisdictions.
  • Become a key investor touchpoint, syndicating targeted investment opportunities and organizing curated events by understanding our investor base preferences thoroughly.
  • Support fundraising initiatives by engaging with current & prospective investors, monitoring ongoing processes, cultivating our CRM and preparing materials.
  • Support in developing & implementing a differentiated framework to streamline, dynamically track, and improve Spheres’ ecosystem & fundraising.


(C) Additional workstreams

  • Co-lead long-term strategic initiatives in close collaboration with the founders.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Involvement in operational workflows where additional support is needed.


Qualifications & Skills

  • University degree from a leading university showcasing an extensive analytical & problem-solving mindset, MBA also applicable.
  • Prior experience within an asset manager (private equity/venture capital fund, wealth manager, or hedge fund) and/or advisory business (investment banks, consultancy), ideally in an investing and/or client-facing role.
  • Independent & proactive character who is open to tackling unstructured problems.
  • Strong interest in cross-asset investing and mental flexibility.
  • Collaborative person who seeks to build networks and partnerships.
  • Entrepreneurial character with the willingness to immerse in a range of new problems.
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in German, Italian, or other European languages is a plus.
