Microsoft Security EngineerSurrey - hybrid£50k plus benefits A Cyber Security Engineer, passionate about the Microsoft tech stack and keen to forge a career within the Cyber Security space in an internal environment? A key client of Consegna Talent Solutions are investing in their Cyber Security strategy and have a roadmap outlined for the next few years, now they need a passionate Security Engineer to help deliver it.As the Security Engineer, you will be a key player within the IT team (team of 6) supporting the IT Manager developing and managing the security roadmap, liaising with external partners and ensuring compliance is adhered to in line with standards and regulations.Ambitious? As this business continues to grow, so can your role and responsibilities too. Some key responsibilities in place for now:

• Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive Security Roadmap
• Liaise with our external SOC provider to mitigate all security alerts and incidents.
• Collaborate with external providers and manage M365 and Intune environments to enhance security and estate posture
• Implement any recommendations that arise from security audits and assessments.
• Implement and maintain a strategy to maximise their E3 applications to support the Security Roadmap in place
• Keep updated on the latest Microsoft security features and best practices.
• Main effective communication with stakeholders and users regarding project progress, security initiatives and security posture.
• Provide security training and mentorship to the wider IT team on best practices and business-critical functions.
• Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT team’s capabilities in supporting security objectives.

This role is particularly suitable for someone who has come from an IT Support/Helpdesk background and transferred into a Security role due to their passion for the space. Some key experience required for the Security Engineer role:

• Knowledge and practical experience in managing Meraki firewalls, VPNs, Microsoft Tech (such as Defender / Intune etc). Mail Filtering, etc.  
• Proficient in network troubleshooting
• A key understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, such as licensing requirements, Identity Access Management, App Registrations, User Risk Policies, Conditional Access Policies, and Intune.
• Practical experience with vulnerability assessment using Microsoft Defender or other similar tools
• Experience in designing and managing mission-critical infrastructure is preferred
• Experience with implementing Zero Trust practices in environmentsAwareness with Risk Assessments, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Incident Response
• Knowledge of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials (CE), Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+)
