These roles are suited to individuals who have spent their careers defining and delivering change in complex environments, and who want to operate at real scale and influence.Key responsibilitiesDefine clear ‘As-Is’, ‘To-Be’ and transitional roadmaps across large, multi-organisation enterprisesLead Business Capability Modelling (BCM) and clearly demonstrate the business value of Enterprise ArchitectureDrive the modernisation and migration of complex legacy workloads in line with Cloud First policyPrioritise managed services, containerisation and serverless architectures to improve resilience, cost and agilityShape and guide the use of government PaaS and IaaS platforms alongside common SaaS offerings in the marketDevelop, own and enforce architectural standards and policies consistently across a large enterpriseImplement and support agile governance frameworks (e.g. ADRs, TDA participation) that enable pace without losing controlCoach and mentor colleagues, lead the architecture community, and ensure structured skills and knowledge transferManage and influence stakeholders at Senior Civil Service (SCS) level, building trust and alignment around strategic decisionsProfileAround 20+ years’ experience supporting UK Government transformation programmes, on either the client or supplier sideProven track record of delivering enterprise-scale change in complex, regulated environmentsStrong stakeholder management skills and credibility when engaging SCS-level leadersA collaborative, pragmatic style – balancing ideal architecture with real-world delivery constraintsTo apply / express interestSuitable candidates are invited to get in touch for a confidential conversation or to share their CV for discussion.
