What is the role?

Reporting to the Company Solicitor, the position will involve the preparation of documents in connection with the setting up of sites for plot sales and dealing with all development matters arising in the course of residential developments, including road and sewer agreements, drainage and service easements, transfers of public open space, management companies and residual land sales.

It will also involve working alongside the Legal Manager to supervise and support a team of conveyancers on a day to day basis, advising and assisting on issues which arise during plot sales and part exchange transactions and where appropriate, dealing with plot sales and part exchange transactions.

The role will include:

  • Preparing documents and portfolios in connection with the setting up of sites for plot sales
  • Dealing with a wide range of development matters including road and sewer agreements, drainage and service easements, transfers of public open space, management companies and residual land sales.
  • Supervising, supporting and actively managing a team of conveyancers on a day to day basis.
  • Advising and assisting on issues which arise during plot sales and part exchange transactions and where appropriate, dealing with plot sales and part exchange transactions.
  • Dealing with reversion sales, deeds of variation and other miscellaneous conveyancing matters
  • Attending meetings with sales staff where required
  • Training conveyancers and Assistant Conveyancers in connection with title checks, plot conveyancing and deed of variations.

What we need from you?

  • Level 3 ILEX or equivalent or above
  • Experienced in commercial or residential conveyancing able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of conveyancing, practice and procedure.
  • Experience in site set ups, development work and infrastructure work.
  • Previous management experience an advantage.
  • Previous experience of handling plot sales and dealing with related development matters for a house builder (either in house or in private practice) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Personable, motivated and organised individual with experience of working in a busy office environment (a legal office would be preferable).
  • It is essential you are computer literate, have good social and communication skills and a confident telephone manner. Above all we need an enthusiastic, proactive, hardworking individual to join our dynamic, supportive team.
