The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations at the newly opened Aberdeen assembly and test facility. They will also have a key role supporting the Field Services team through local tooling and equipment supply as well as the occasional opportunity to work on site or offshore, when required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technicians to deliver the assembly and testing of manufactured products and ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, professionally and in a timely way to deliver client projects
  • Ensure all team members are working productively, allocating jobs and workloads, scheduling, completing team-related paperwork and communicating with key stakeholders in relation to projects and tasks
  • Ensure that materials are available for the work scheduled for each day/week, planning and prioritising workloads and schedules accordingly
  • Report on daily progress, issues, and concerns to project stakeholders
  • Reinforce a culture of health & safety in all aspects of the production environment
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement, implementing change where opportunities are present
  • Take a leading role in supporting the QA department in the deployment of the ISO accreditation and compliance process for the Aberdeen facility and associated activities
  • Act as an escalation point to resolve any issues effectively, where necessary holding discussions with key departments (engineering/QA/Projects etc.)
  • Training and mentoring of new team members
  • As part of the UK management team, participate in management meetings, working collaboratively with peers within the business
  • Support the preparation of quality documentation for inclusion in Manufacturing Record Books and other quality records and accurate record keeping in line with company JP procedures
  • Monitor, generate and report on KPI data


Qualifications

  • Qualification in a hydraulic/mechanical engineering related field such as a craft apprenticeship or vocational qualification
  • Counterbalance forklift license
  • Offshore survival training and a valid medical would be an advantage but are not essential


Experience

The successful candidate should have a mechanical assembly workshop background, ideally working with subsea controls or production equipment. They will have been responsible for leading a team, training and mentoring inexperienced colleagues and prioritising multiple tasks. Assembly and testing experience is a must have, as is a good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes such as forging, fabrication, welding and coating.
