Our long-standing reputation speaks to the trust and reliability weve built within the healthcare sector.The Role:Due to our new Growth targets for 2025/26 - Direct Medics is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a permanent basis.This role is critical in overseeing the financial operations of the organization ensuring accuracy compliance and providing strategic financial insights to guide decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial strategies and implementing initiatives that align with the companys long-term goals. Additionally the Financial Controller will lead the finance team and oversee project-based work to improve processes and enhance financial performance and report in to our newly promoted Financial Director. Key Responsibilities: Manage the preparation of the companys financial reports including income statements balance sheets and cash flow statements ensuring accuracy and compliance.Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes providing detailed reporting and financial analysis to senior management. Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support the companys long-term objectives and growth plans. Lead the implementation of financial strategies that drive profitability and efficiency across the organizationDesign and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets prevent fraud and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process ensuring timely and accurate completion. Analyse financial data to identify trends variances and opportunities for improvement driving actionable insights. Support the senior management team in strategic financial planning and analysis helping to shape the companys financial future. Manage and lead the finance team providing mentorship fostering professional development and ensuring high performance. Implement and maintain financial systems and ensure they are capable of supporting the companies financial reporting and analysis needs. Manage company cashflow monitoring cash inflows and outflows optimizing working capital. Qualifications and Experience: Professional accounting qualification (ACCA CIMA or equivalent). Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar financial management role with a proven track record in managing financial projects and implementing strategic initiatives. Strong knowledge of financial regulations compliance standards and internal controls. Demonstrated experience in financial reporting budgeting and forecasting processes. Experience providing strategic financial advice and working closely with senior management teams. Skills and Competencies: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights. Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience in leading finance projects. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication skills capable of conveying complex financial information clearly and concisely. Experience in project management particularly in driving improvements and implementing financial strategies. Proficiency in accounting software/ QuickBooks / Sage and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
