KHA’s Management Consulting Criteria Working in management consulting at KHA requires a strategic and adaptable approach with a commitment to driving meaningful change in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. Team members must excel at navigating complex problems, adapting to evolving needs, and offering insights that support clients’ goals as expressed in scopes and working agreements while advancing equity and social impact. A successful KHA practitioner will possess the following:

  • Client-Centered Mindset: Approach every project with a strong focus on understanding and meeting client needs as scoped in specified statement of work, providing tailored and actionable solutions that drive impact and align with clients' strategic objectives.
  • Strategic and Critical Thinking: Analyze complex problems from a systems perspective, integrating data and context to propose high-impact, equity-centered recommendations.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, communicate effectively across different audiences, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity and Complexity: Stay composed and effective in navigating uncertain or multifaceted situations, balancing multiple project demands with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Equity and Social Impact Focus: Ensure all consulting activities are grounded in advancing equity and justice, using culturally competent approaches that are responsive to the communities and social movements involved.


Potential Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with stakeholders to design and implement strategies that promote racial equity, organizational change, and social impact.
  • Project manage scopes of work, including oversight of project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful execution and alignment with client goals. 
  • Conduct research, data analysis, and program evaluation to inform best practices and support evidence-based solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and strategic planning meetings with clients and partners.
  • Identify and cultivate new client relationships, contribute to proposal development, and support strategies to expand the firm’s impact and reach through strategic business development. 
  • Collaborate with our internal team to innovate solutions, share insights, and contribute to a thriving and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Participate in a minimum of two (2) conference presentations annually, showcasing KHA’s work and expanding our profile within the sector.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in consulting, program management, or a related field within the social impact sector.
  • Multi-sector experience ranging between government agencies, nonprofits, corporations, startups, etc.
  • Strong commitment to racial equity, social justice, and inclusive organizational practices.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, engaging clients, and building strong relationships with C-level executives, management, internal/external teams, and vendors to execute projects and implement impactful, capacity-building solutions that drive social awareness.
  • Well-developed organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple and competing tasks.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (oral, written, and presentation), with the ability to both give and receive feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability for careful discernment and decision-making, maintaining discretion and upholding confidentiality.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, adept at navigating complex and nuanced relational dynamics.
  • Proven ability to work effectively on remote teams, collaborating towards common goals with strong delegation skills and the capacity to drive results through others.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-starter attitude; openness to working in a small and evolving organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to adapt and pivot in real-time based on project needs and emergent circumstances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools such as Asana.
