As we continue with our ambitious growth plans, we are seeking like-minded individuals to support and enhance our team on an exciting journey, and we are recruiting a Toolroom Technician.

The role involves the maintenance and repair of press tooling, whilst supporting production related issues and engaging in existing preventative maintenance systems. A Toolroom Technician will have a good all round engineering ability and be flexible with the ability to organise and maintain records of tasks carried out.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

  • Resolve production breakdowns
  • Maintain tooling and equipment using bench sitting techniques with machining capabilities
  • Strip & clean press tools
  • Complete systems of work
  • Complete all necessary paperwork
  • Polish and keep tooling in a good condition
  • Manufacture items as required
  • Phase test at specified intervals ensuring learning develops in a good time frame
  • Be a proactive member of the Toolroom Team, highlighting and documenting any improvement or remedial requests via the necessary document completion
  • Maintain and repair press tooling
  • Experienced in Manual Lathe
  • Experienced in Manual Milling
  • Experienced in CNC Milling
  • Experience of CAM systems
  • CMM training
  • Surface grinding
  • Fault finding ability and quality improvement in production environment
  • Ensure housekeeping within work area is maintained at the highest level ensuring adherence to BRC accreditation and standards at all times
  • Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by adherence to HSE requirements
  • Complete Hazard Tags where required
  • Support continuous improvement activities and initiatives
  • To carry out or assist with any duties as deemed necessary in connection with the business

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • Understanding of H&S requirements and key principles
  • Good understanding of manufacturing principles.
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Flexible approach in order to meet business and departmental requirements
  • Excellent time management skills
