Role Summary:


The Assure Xposure Technical Architect role is primarily responsible for guiding the development and ongoing enhancement of the strategic DXC exposure management software product, following best practice in technical design and architecting performant analysis functionality, able to deal with large customer datasets.


Working as a member of a small development team based in the UK and Morocco, requirements must be refined, agreed, and delivered using agile methodologies ensuring the design is fit for purpose and future proof.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to quarterly release planning and fortnightly sprint planning activities, ensuring features are delivered as planned to a high level of quality with little or no re-work required.
  • Lead the design of new features that are prioritised for development, ensuring close attention is paid to performance and re-architecting functions where necessary.
  • Adhere to and contribute towards the enhancement of best practice in design and development of the Assure Exposure software product.
  • Act as a technical SME to provide in depth technical support to existing customers to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
  • Support the QA team in the design, development, review and execution of system test scripts to ensure appropriate test coverage.
  • Assist in the sales support cycle, product demonstrations and training as needed


Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering in a technical lead role, preferably in a commercial setting.
  • Extensive experience of developing enterprise-grade applications using the .NET platform (preferably .Net Core) and/or web UI development using appropriate design patterns and application frameworks (such as MVC, Angular, React, etc.)
  • Full understanding of mainstream development tools such as Visual Studio, VS Code, etc.
  • High degree of knowledge and understanding of software architecture and platforms such as Docker and IIS
  • Extensive SQL experience (preferably SQL Server)
  • Proficiency of Agile Scrum Development Methodology
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of source control management and code deployment (versioning, branching, releases, service packs, etc.). Experience of GitHub would be ideal.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of service and/or web development using related technologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team, often with minimal guidance.
  • Time management and prioritisation skills. Balancing priorities on simultaneous projects.
  • Good judgment, issue management, and problem analysis and resolution techniques.
  • Accomplished presentation/demonstration skills
  • A high level of attention to detail with strong technical documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

  • Practical working knowledge of at least one insurance software application delivering exposure management functionality to commercial insurance entities.
  • Experience in development of cloud based microservice architecture and service-oriented solutions (preferably using AWS technologies)
  • Experience is development of REST APIs (preferably level 3, HATEOAS)
  • Experience in network infrastructure, security
  • Knowledge of the Insurance industry and its processes and procedures gained through direct experience.
  • Experience of DXC OPEN Product set
  • Knowledge and experience of analysis techniques, ideally of using a formal analysis methodology in the building of solutions. (Some knowledge of analysing relational data would be beneficial.)
  • Willingness to travel
