Senior Payroll Associate
Lancaster or Preston – Hybrid working offered after settling in period; 3 days office (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), 2 days home (Wednesday and Thursday). WFH is an option on Friday afternoons also, from 2pm.

Purpose of the Role
To provide an accurate and high-quality payroll and Auto Enrolment service to clients on a timely basis.
Qualifications and Skills
Good technical and practical knowledge of Payroll and Auto-Enrolment legislation.
Good communication skills to enable effective communication with both clients and HMRC.
Experience of working within a busy payroll environment or bureau.
Ability to work on own initiative, whilst maintaining departmental procedures.
Excellent attention to detail.
Methodical and calm, with a focus on solution and problem-solving.
To maintain the highest standards of personal organisation and time management.
Have a “can do” attitude and be willing to learn.
A knowledge of Paycircle or Xero software would be ideal, but not essential.
Good IT skills (Word, Outlook and, especially, Excel).
Main Responsibilities
To manage a portfolio of clients, providing payroll and Auto Enrolment pension services from beginning to end.
Ensuring delivery of a timely and efficient payroll service within the agreed timescales and that compliance deadlines are met.
To ensure that payroll information is collected in the most efficient manner, timetabling work wherever possible to suit the needs of the client.
Liaising with clients, HMRC and pension providers on payroll/Auto Enrolment related queries.
Ability to process payrolls in accordance with departmental procedures and legislation.
Manage the submission of client payroll data to BACS.
Understand and deliver compliant Auto Enrolment pension provision to clients and pension providers.
To support and mentor junior members of the payroll team.
