About Sales Manager role

Sales Manager will be responsible for new business development via prospecting, qualifying, selling and administering business for the Hotel, Golf club and Leisure Club

The successful Sales Manager will undertake the following duties:

  • Maintain effective channels of communication with staff, managers and clients
  • Positively and professionally promote the Hotel, Golf Club and Leisure Club
  • Improve existing and develop new revenue streams
  • Increase sales through all revenue streams
  • Sell a full range of services
  • Manages account of existing clients and develop professional relationships for repeating businesses.
  • Handle any negative feedback from clients in a positive manner and work with the Operations Manager to resolve the issue for the client.
  • Develop new relationships with companies to gain new business
  • Complete RFIs, RFPs and any online or bids or rate solicitation requirements for the hotel
  • Organize, lead and participate in monthly cold calling days
  • Develop customer and client relationships through listening and understanding
  • Prepare offer schedules as required and assist with promotional material/activities in conjunction with Strategy and Development Manager
  • Design, write and deliver one to one and group presentations
  • Priorities activities in the interest of the business
  • Produce a sales plan, and actively promote and execute this
  • Timely and accurate sales reporting as required by the business
  • Effective communication and briefing of the vision for the hotel team to achieve them
  • Attend and actively participate in networking events. These may include evenings and very occasional weekends
  • Organize and publicize sales events as required
  • Host monthly lunch events
  • Attend conferences, exhibitions as required
  • Ensure departmental administration is accurate and timely
  • Protect the business against bad press
  • Supports sales site activity
  • To be responsible for the development and management of all departmental staff (if applicable now or in the future) to meet the needs of the department
  • To be responsible, whilst liaising with your line Manager, for your own development
  • To be aware of, and comply with, statutory and company requirements regarding the work place such as health and safety, hygiene, fire prevention and licensing.
  • To also be accountable for security in the department
  • Any other request by Manager/Senior Manager

Skills and requirements

  • Candidate must have a proven track record in sales and business development
  • Availability to work some evenings and occasional weekends as required
  • Will require outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Lanyon
  • Own transport essential in order to visit clients
  • Candidate must be self motivated
  • Must be able to work alone effectively as well as integrate within a team
  • Maintain high levels of enthusiasm and commitment to every task undertaken
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the hotel
  • Take a responsible approach towards timekeeping and attendance to ensure the department runs efficiently, and assist in the event of absence cover
