This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong mechanical maintenance experience who wants to work with modern plant machinery in a fast-paced, continuously improving environment. The RoleAs a Mechanical Engineer, youll play a key role in ensuring thesafe, reliable and efficient operationof all mechanical plant equipment through both proactive and reactive maintenance.Key responsibilities include: Carrying outplanned preventative maintenance (PPM)on mechanical systems and machineryResponding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing high-quality repairsUsingroot cause analysisand proven fault-finding techniques to solve mechanical issuesDisassembling, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding mechanical components includingpumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and rotating machineryReading mechanical drawings, manuals and technical documentationKeeping accurate maintenance logs including work completed, parts used and downtime recordsSupporting continuous improvement to reduce downtime and boost reliabilityEnsuring compliance withHealth & Safety procedures, risk assessments and isolation processesThe role follows a rotating shift pattern of days and afternoons, plus participation in an on-call schedule.About You To be successful in this position, you will have: Qualifications:(Accepted qualifications include) Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering orLevel 3 Mechanical Engineering Qualification such as: NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering MaintenanceBTEC Level 3 Mechanical EngineeringCity & Guilds Level 3 Mechanical MaintenanceHNC/HND in Mechanical EngineeringIOSH is desirable but not essentialExperience:Proven experience as aMechanical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance TechnicianStrong mechanical bias with solid hands-on abilityFault-finding experience acrossmechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsCompetence working withrotating machinery(motors, pumps, gearboxes)Confident using workshop tools and machineryStrong understanding of preventative maintenanceExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamIn return, they offer: Generous holiday allowance Core hours, flexitime and time off in lieu Buying & selling holidays Employee benefits platform Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme Health & wellbeing Free flu jabs Occupational health Pension scheme Health cash plans Cycle to work scheme Social culture and events Internal training Academy E-learning opportunities Access to external training and supported education Long service awards Bonus scheme Sales incentive program Employee Assistance Programme Enhanced maternity and paternity leaveWhy Apply?This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation committed to investment, innovation and long-term site development.
