About this Role and the Impact You Will Have:

As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role within our collaborative Data & AI team, where your work will directly contribute to revolutionising materials development. You will analyse complex datasets, uncover meaningful insights, and develop predictive models that drive innovation and enhance decision-making.

Working closely with scientists, engineers, and stakeholders, you will bridge the gap between data and discovery, accelerating progress toward sustainable, cutting-edge solutions. As a member of the Data & AI team, you will work alongside world-class talent in an environment that not only fosters innovation but also personal and professional growth.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Analyse large and complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  2. Build and optimise AI and machine learning models to predict material properties, enhance efficiency, and accelerate R&D efforts.
  3. Collaborate closely with material scientists and domain experts to translate scientific challenges into data-driven solutions.
  4. Create clear and compelling visualisations to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  1. A problem solver with a deep analytical mindset
  2. Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or related quantitative field
  3. Proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models into production
  4. At least 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role
  5. Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and machine learning techniques.
  6. Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python and associated ML/DL libraries (Numpy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, Plotly, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, etc.)
  7. Knowledge of statistics and machine learning algorithms
  8. Work experience of one major public cloud
  9. Experience in MLOps, productionising ML models and developing web-app solutions
  10. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a desire to collaborate in diverse, multidisciplinary environments.
  11. Passion for innovation and sustainability, particularly in the cement and concrete industry.
