So if you’re driven, with a passion for developing simple software solutions, creating great user experiences, designing scalable solutions for real business challenges and ensuring customer happiness then we’re looking for youIS THIS SOMETHING THAT INTERESTS YOU?The Principal React Engineer will have responsibility for and oversight of implementing solutions that improve the front-end solutions of web applications and services that will be utilised by some of the world’s leading food production and food retail businesses. As a Principal React Engineer you will support and regularly contribute to the common code bases with very little oversight beyond high level direction.Through integrating our products and taking front end ownership you will have a lead role as part of a modernisation project we are currently undertaking and act as a tech leader in the Front end space internally and provide support and guidance to other developers in their understanding of React Front End Development.RESPONSIBILITIES:Front End Development Arcitecture-80%Collaborate on front end product architecture for building robust distributed systems: Provide input on technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, optimize application for maximum speed, scalability, and accessibility.Implement outlined information architecture & interaction design ensuring alignment with back-end specifications for complex software applications and systems.Confer with business analysts, data scientists, or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.Serve as a contributing team member, participating in software development lifecycle and regularly communicating status to Head of Engineering or Development Director.Develop new user-facing features and builds reusable code and libraries for future use. Building and maintaining internal design system.Write clean, test-driven code that adheres to standards, practices, and conventions.Test features to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly, and accurately.Update, repair, modify, and develop existing software and generic applications.Product Analysis and Customer Support-15%Collaborates with Customer Support and Implementation teams to resolve issues and bugs identified in testing and production support.Consults with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues.Innovation-5%Supports innovation through trend analysis, identifying new opportunities, developing novel ideas and/or participation in idea generation activities to improve company processes, services, or products.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, and 5 + years’ relevant experience.At least one major skill outside of programming such as monitoring, performance optimization, documentation, integration, testing, or visual design.Technical SkillsTo perform this job successfully, the Principal React Engineer should have experience with:React 18+ & TypeScript: Advanced hooks, strict typing, generics, composition patterns, performance optimizationTanStack Ecosystem: Query v5 (server state, caching), Router v1 (file-based routing, type-safe navigation), Table (data grids), Virtual (list virtualization)Vite: Build optimization, dev server configuration Tailwind CSS: Utility-first styling, custom design systemsReact Hook Form & Zod: Complex validation, schema inference, API contractsNx Workspace: Task orchestration, affected commands, custom generators, cachingTesting: Vitest, Cypress, MSWStorybook 8: Component documentation and visual testingArchitectural Understanding:Micro-frontend architecture within Nx monorepoComponent-driven development and design systemsDomain-driven design for business logicAPI-first development with type-safe contractsBENEFITS:Competitive Base SalaryClear Career ProgressionGenerous Holiday Package - 25 Days + 10 Public HolidaysSecure Company HardwarePrivate Healthcare & Employee Wellness Classes
