Our people make the difference.We are currently looking for a Mechanical Craft Team Member to join our Cranes & Lifting Department at our Llanwern site. This is a practical hands-on role where youll play a vital part in keeping our essential lifting equipment safe reliable and fully operational. Youll be part of a tight-knit team working in a busy and safety-focused environment that supports steel production across the UK.What you will doAs a Mechanical Craft Team Member youll take responsibility for carrying out maintenance and repairs across a range of lifting equipment. Your day-to-day work will support the safe and efficient running of the plant and youll contribute your knowledge as a skilled craftsperson within a high-performing team.Your key responsibilities will include:Completing maintenance fault-finding and repair tasks to a high standardPromoting a strong safety culture ensuring all tasks comply with risk assessments and safety proceduresSupporting the team leader in planning work coordinating resources and maintaining accurate records in SAPDelivering on-the-job training and coaching to other team membersYoull also have the chance to deputise for the Area Team Leader when required giving you the opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills in a supportive setting.What you will needWere looking for an experienced team-oriented craftsperson with strong technical skills and a proactive attitude. Youll need:A time-served Mechanical apprenticeshipExperience working on lifting equipment and familiarity with PUWER/LOLER regulationsThe ability to work at height and in a safety-critical environmentClear communication skills and a willingness to lead and support othersBasic IT skills and experience managing maintenance activityIt would be great if you also have:Familiarity with SAP or similar systemsExperience with EOT crane maintenanceA track record of continuous improvementFor a full job description or if youd like an informal discussion please contact:@What we can offer youTata Steel UK offers their employees significant benefits packages.
