As Head of External Affairs, you’ll lead our media relations, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement programmes. You’ll be central to building NHG’s reputation as a purpose-led, high-performing organisation and advising senior leaders on reputation and risk.This is a senior leadership role within our Corporate Affairs function, requiring confidence, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage crises effectively.How You’ll Do It Lead media relations, public affairs and reputation-building communications and engagement programmes. Build strong relationships with media, MPs, councillors, and key stakeholders. Advise the CEO and Executive Board on external communications. Deliver a strategic narrative that showcases NHG’s social purpose and transformation. Manage a small, high-performing team and agency partners. Essential: Significant experience in media relations and public affairs. Strong understanding of the UK media landscape and digital channels. Proven ability to manage crises and advise senior leaders. Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and visual. Collaborative, inclusive, and values-led leadership style.
