Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: March 2026Work Set Up: On-site (Open to Manchester Cheltenham or London)Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Software Developer to support complex national security projects within the public sector. This role involves developing secure high-performance applications and systems leveraging both Java and Python to deliver robust back-end solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with containerization system integration and agile delivery in highly regulated environments.Develop and maintain scalable back-end systems using Java and Python.Configure and containerize object stores using Docker and Kubernetes.Design and implement relational databases and optimized SQL queries.Integrate third-party software solutions through scripting and middleware.Build and deploy web-based user interfaces to enhance system functionality.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in support of national security missions.Apply Agile methodologies to ensure iterative and timely software delivery.Diagnose and resolve technical faults to maintain system reliability.Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Qualifications : Proven experience in Java and Python software development.Strong understanding of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.Experience in integrating third-party systems and developing web-based interfaces.Familiarity with Agile frameworks and collaborative development environments.Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.Previous experience supporting national security or government-related projects preferred.Active eDV clearance required (note that the vetting process may take longer than usual onboarding procedures).Additional Information : Candidates must be legally authorized to live and work in the country the position is based in without requiring sponsorship.We appreciate your interest in this opportunity.
