Are you passionate about data integrity, security, and performance? We're looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) on a 3-month Fixed Term contract to join our team and play a critical role in managing and optimising our data environments.As a DBA, you'll ensure our databases run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. You'll be involved in planning, development, and troubleshooting, working closely with IT delivery leads, product owners, data engineers, and infrastructure specialists to support business-critical systems.Responsibilities:Ensure data consistency, clarity, and accessibility across the database.Monitor user access and security, and manage permissions.Optimise performance and manage parameters for fast responses.Design, refine, and implement database models (conceptual, logical, and physical).Install and test new DBMS versions.Maintain data standards and compliance with GDPR.Develop and test backup and recovery plans.Carry out capacity planning and manage storage/archiving procedures.Collaborate with technical teams to ensure database integrity and security.Manage data environments, including cluster configuration and performance monitoring.Support integration between data sources and Databricks.Oversee release management for data platform changes.What we're looking for:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Familiarity with data manipulation languages and database design principles.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Organisational skills, flexibility, and adaptability.Understanding of GDPR and data protection legislation.Experience with Azure SQL databases and Databricks environment management (highly desirable).Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with new technologies.What Can We Offer You?A competitive salary package.25 days annual leave plus public holidays, and your birthday off.Company pension.Blended workingAn environment where your learning and development is supported through a range of various learning tools and courses.Impellam is a connected group providing global workforce and specialist recruitment solutions.
