ESS Recruit’s client is a global high growth electronics manufacturing and engineering business. Over the last ten years the business has grown significantly and can proudly boast a world class international customer base with operations in the USA, UK and Asia. After a significant multi-million pound investment to drive new product development and substantial growth in people and operations. The business is now looking to recruit a Test Engineer.
Role
Reporting to the Director of Test the Test Engineer will be responsible for all test aspects of assembled Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies, using state of the art Automated Test Equipment (ATE). Interpreting complex ATE schematics and layouts to optimise production testing to component level.
Responsibilities
- Programming of Production ATE Equipment
- Perform Testing of complex ATE Hardware
- Providing support and direction for production test related issues
- Ensure test programs and controls are in place to support daily production needs
- Supporting debug to component level
- Define and document test procedures for all projects
- Lead quality and test investigation and drive closure
- Equipment selection and introduction to aid production processes
Skills and Experience
- Logical thinker
- Extensive experience of Debug to component level with complex assemblies
- Strong reporting skills to document issues
- Drive continuous improvement through training and knowledge transfer
- Knowledgeable and exposure of test and electromechanical handling systems
- Capable of bench soldering to IPC Standards
- Good time management and the ability to work independently
- Ideally a minimum of 3 years experience in electronic component test
