Job description:
About the Role
Responsibility for delivery of step-change improvement projects aligned with the Operations Reliability plan, focusing on the key operational objectives across the site.
To provide support for the site Bakery Manager, working independently working alongside the off-site C.I Manager and Group Manufacturing Improvement Manager in developing and implementing C.I initiatives applying CI tools and structured methodology to delivering targets set by the Bakery & Group Operations Manager that deliver sustainable financial benefits and YOY improvements through supporting and driving improvement plans, budgets and resources to support the overall Dorset site improvement strategy.
Working with stakeholders across the site to identify and deliver cost base reductions, as well as coach and facilitate a program of improvements. Creation and execution of Improvement plans and supporting the group Manufacturing Excellence program.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver improvement projects to support the operational and Engineering teams to continuously improve plant output and quality.
- Support the delivery of financial budget aligned with the delivery of KPI’s (waste, TOS, efficiency, machine uptime, planned tonnage and accidents).
- Leverage and develop site capability on CI tools and techniques (Lean Six-sigma, Kaizen, SMED, 5S, Line-balancing, Centrelines).
- Support the maintenance and drive improvements in our bakery OEE performance management system.
- Support embedding site values as part of the Dorset Improvement Strategy
- Demonstrate Health and Safety adherence and cultural behaviours to support site culture of driving improvement in this area.
- Supporting and delivering training to colleagues as required
- To work effectely and ensure Food Safety, Integrity, Quality and legality are maintained within the Busines
Who we are looking for
- Lean Six-sigma green belt or similar relevant qualification - essential.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience/ graduate calibre or formal qualification or experience in manufacturing excellence
- Level 2 Food Safety/Hygiene qualification preferred
- Clear understanding and application of continuous improvement tools and techniques, in particular DMAIC, SMED, 5S, Centre Lining, SIC, Kaizen and Line Balancing.
- Experience working with production overall Equipment Effectiveness software systems.
- Experience in analysing and presenting reports
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an FMCG environment
- Can demonstrate an ability to think strategically to enhance site/cultural performance.
- Financial awareness
- Sound working knowledge or qualification in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
