Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience working with BMC Discovery or similar IT asset management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with CMDB, ServiceNow, and other ITSM tools is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of BMC Discovery architecture, scanning methods, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in network protocols such as SNMP, WMI, SSH, and HTTP/HTTPS.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate and enhance discovery processes.
  • Certifications:
  • BMC Certified Specialist – BMC Discovery or equivalent certification is a strong plus.
  • ITIL Foundation or similar IT service management certification is desirable.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret discovery data and produce actionable insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting discovery and integration issues.
  • Communication:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document technical concepts clearly and provide training to non-technical users.
  • Other:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
