The role:Lorien's client, a leading tech company, is seeking a Technical Account Manager to join their team. This role would suit someone coming from a strong technical support background, in Windows/VMware and cloud services, looking to take a step up to a technical account manager position, or you have a proven background as a technical account manager.

The Technical Account Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical components of the client's service, starting from the moment they are involved, and will be initially accountable for 10 customers. They will be in charge of supplying the necessary technical expertise and understanding to address any problems related to performance and capacity, while also collaborating with the client to establish a plan that guarantees the client receives the benefits from the solutions offered. This is a customer-facing role and will also have a technical angle to it, so will need to present and report on how customers can optimise their infrastructure and how it's working.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and managing technical strategies for customers and aligning them with their objectives
  • Seeking ways to innovate and improve existing services for customers
  • Leading technical strategy discussions and managing these strategies
  • Spotting patterns and taking steps to prevent problems before they happen
  • Serving as a technical intermediary between customers, service engineering teams, and support staff
  • Strong element of UK-wide client-site travel involved (with 2/3 days a week in the office/client site)
  • Making sure all communication, interactions, tasks, and actions are clear, effective, and completed on schedule

About you:

  • Strong understanding of both public and private cloud systems, along with knowledge of VMware technologies and Windows operating systems
  • Proficient in analysis and the ability to deliver presentations effectively
  • Focused on customer service with a keen eye for detail and outstanding communication abilities in both spoken and written form
  • Skilled in tracking and evaluating present infrastructure and discussing future requirements from customers
  • Demonstrated experience as a Technical Account Manager within the IT sector
