Millar Cameron, in partnership with MedAccess, is seeking a Head of Institutional Fundraising. Fundraising is critical to their success, and they are looking for a highly networked and experienced fundraiser to ensure financial sustainability and long-term impact for MedAccess.

MedAccess is a social enterprise committed to improving health in over 110 countries. Their mission is to cut illness and death by speeding up access to lifesaving vaccines, medicines, diagnostics, and technologies for people in underserved communities. They broker and finance agreements – which otherwise wouldn’t be made – to bring medical innovations to more people, in more countries, as quickly as possible. In their first seven years, they have helped to accelerate access to products to tackle HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, syphilis, and COVID-19.

About the role:

Working with the Senior Management Team and Board, the Head of Institutional Fundraising will play a key role in ensuring MedAccess’ long-term financial sustainability through developing, cultivating, stewarding, and retaining a network of donors and prospects to ensure sufficient grant income to cover operating expenses and impact capital to sustain their portfolio exposure.

Skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10+ years’ experience in resource mobilisation with significant experience in raising funds from institutional sources (bilateral, major foundations, development finance institutions)
  • Knowledge of global health products, partners, and market dynamics
  • An understanding of diligence processes, financial terms, legal terms, and volume guarantees/innovative finance products
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with experience of operating at C suite/Board level
  • A track record of complex stakeholder management and partner engagement
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience operating in fast-paced and changing environments
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM is desirable
