Materials Buyer

As one of the largest performance door-set manufacturers and architectural hardware suppliers in the UK, we provide bespoke Door Suites made onsite in our factory located in Deeside, North Wales.

Due to ongoing success and growth, we're looking for exceptional individuals to join us at our Deeside factory.

We are currently hiring a Materials Buyer to join our team. In this role you'll play a crucial role in maintaining an uninterrupted flow of goods into our manufacturing facility, ensuring operational efficiency and meeting customer demands.

Balancing price, quality, and delivery, you'll secure supplies that drive our business forward.

This role would be ideal for experienced Buyers / Purchasers with a keen eye for detail, capable of managing and controlling stock, previous experience in procurement within a manufacturing setting, and adept in navigating complex supply chains.

Consequently, strong organisational skills and proficiency in essential software ERP/MRP systems - is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all product is available and ready for production plan start date.
• Place purchase orders in timely manner and with accuracy
• Negotiate with suppliers to get best value
• Continual supplier analysis for compliance, sustainability and competitive value
• Liaise with internal project managers to ensure correct information is received in time to procure effectively
• Procure stock items in line with company expectations
• Expedite suppliers managing acknowledgment process
• Raise NCR’s with Suppliers not conforming to expectations
• Checking and maintaining FSC PEFC stock control systems
• Recommend on standard/non-standard stock items
• Maintain safe & organised storage and work areas including information systems (eg visual display etc).
• Deputising for Department Manager in their absence

Qualifications/Experience

Essential

• Experienced buyer in fast paced Manufacturing environment
• ERP/MRP systems knowledge
• MS Office and MS Teams
• Negotiation skills
• Communication at all levels with internal and external parties

Desirable

• Timber knowledge
• CIPS qualified
• Door & Ironmongery knowledge
• Data analysis
