You will be driving quality, supporting staff, and ensuring our learners receive an exceptional post-16 experience. You'll balance your time between leading people and teaching (50% timetable), staying close to the classroom while influencing the success and direction of the Sixth Form curriculum. What you'll do:Lead and inspire Sixth Form curriculum teams, providing ongoing support, development and performance managementManage day-to-day Sixth Form operations, including cover, open evenings, parents' evenings and taster eventsDrive improvements in student progress, achievement, destinations and overall Sixth Form experienceShape the Sixth Form curriculum offer to ensure it is relevant, ambitious and aligned with progression pathways and local needsEmbed strong quality assurance processes and cultivate a culture of continuous improvementMonitor KPIs, retention, predicted achievement rates and attendance — ensuring accurate reporting and targeted interventionsDeliver high-quality Sixth Form teaching, modelling excellent classroom practiceWork closely with students, parents/carers and support teams to remove barriers to successCelebrate Sixth Form learner achievements and promote a positive, aspirational cultureChampion safeguarding, behaviour and welfare across the Sixth FormDeputise for the Head of Faculty when requiredWhat we're looking for:Proven experience delivering high-quality teaching in a Sixth Form environmentStrong understanding of post-16 pathways, assessment, and academic/vocational progressionExperience coordinating programmes or shaping Sixth Form curriculumEvidence of leading or contributing to successful quality improvementLevel 5 teaching qualification and Level 5+ subject specialist qualificationExcellent communication, organisation, coaching and leadership skillsConfidence in making decisions, solving problems and supporting staffAbility to analyse data to inform planning and interventionsA proactive, positive and student-centred mindsetCommitment to the college CAREs values and to outstanding post-16 provisionCollaborative, team-focused approachWe are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sectors of the community.
