You understand the need for engineering excellencewriting tested resilient codewhile also knowing when to move fast and iterate.Youll be part of a team that helps restaurants of all sizes thrive by creating experiences that keep diners coming back to find and book the perfect table for every occasion. This role is highly collaborative and focused on making a difference for our customers.As an iOS Engineer at OpenTable youll work in a small cross-functional product squad alongside Android Engineers Web Engineers Product Designers Product Managers QA Testers and Data Scientists. Youll report to an Engineering Manager whose mission is to help you develop and grow in your career.In this role you will:Build new features for diners to discover restaurants on our award-winning iOS app written entirely in SwiftCraft elegant user-friendly interfaces using SwiftUIDevelop experiences for millions of diners making it easy to discover the perfect dining occasionsImprove yourself and the team by learning new skills and sharing knowledgeInfluence product direction by voicing your opinions on how and why we do what we doUse data insights and A/B testing to validate ideas and iterate quicklyYou should apply if you:Have an empathetic mindset and enjoy collaborating with developers designers and product managersAre keen to learn from and be mentored by senior engineersAre comfortable working with both iOS and server-side code (our services are written in Java)Have experience building and maintaining a scalable modern and performant iOS appValue testing and code quality as essential to a great user experienceAre motivated to refine and improve both the end-user and developer experienceWe know no one knows everything and we dont expect you to either. Youll be encouraged to learn on the job and we dedicate two days at the end of each sprint for engineers to explore learn and be creative.How we workOpenTable teams are autonomous and define their own ways of working. Our team runs two-week sprints to prioritise and deliver work.Were spread across the UK and mostly work remotely but we meet in our London office on Wednesdays and Thursdays to collaborate share lunch and build connections.
