Job DescriptionThe Trade Finance Division (TFD) sits within UKEF’s Business Group and is responsible for delivering short-term business products including the Bond Support Scheme, Export Working Capital Scheme, General Export Facility, Export Insurance Policy, and Bond Insurance Policy.We are looking for a Business Manager to join our growing Short-Term Business Underwriting Team (STBU). This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of UKEF’s trade finance operations, supporting UK exporters and financial institutions. In this role, you will take ownership of applications from banks, exporters, and brokers for UKEF guarantees and trade credit insurance, managing cases from start to finish and liaising with internal and external stakeholders throughout the process. You will assist with structuring and negotiating facilities, drafting credit analyses, and presenting recommendations to sanctioning managers and the UKEF Credit Committee. Building strong relationships with applicants, banks, brokers, and Export Finance Managers is key, and you will occasionally meet clients to support their needs.Your responsibilities will include reviewing and leading on enquiries and applications, ensuring compliance checks such as Financial Crime screening, and preparing detailed credit submission papers for risk approval.
