JOB – Design and Manufacturing Engineer LOCATION – Wigan TERM – Permanent SALARY – £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience) My client design and manufacture high-tech products for a global client base. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with knowledge of manufacturing principles to join their team in Wigan on a permanent basis. The Design and Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: BSc / BEng / MSc / MEng / HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc. 4 or more years’ of experience working in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position Experience with SAP software Good experience with Continuous improvement Experience with process management Good knowledge of different metal materials, manufacturing techniques and machining processes Have a methodical approach to work Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written The Design and Manufacturing Engineer role will involve: Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects Using SolidWorks, Inventor CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings Identifying opportunities for continuous i...
