Here at Futures, we have been asked to find a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a nationally recognised food manufacturer based in Coventry.

This site is undergoing huge development over the next 24 months so they are looking to grow the Engineering team to accommodate increased production and also a big shift in culture from reactive to proactive maintenance. 

Job details Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary – £54,000 per annum + companywide bonus + overtime paid at a preferential rate  

Shift – 4 on 4 off days and nights.    

Overtime – 1.5x

Location – Coventry.

The role Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

  • React quickly to breakdowns (considerably less often than most maintenance roles in food)
  • Planned Maintenance (They actually do this properly, don’t just check a couple of bearings 5 min before production)
  • CI/Project work (Each Engineer always has 1 or 2 of these projects on the go)
  • Lots of root cause analysis of breakdowns, they don’t want to keep going back to the same breakdown for the same reason
  • Ensure working areas remain clean and tidy, Worksop stores etc.
  • Comply with health and safety and food safety legislation.
  • Working through their CMMS system (Shire) and logging jobs etc accurately.

The site: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

  • Large food manufacturing business with a large packaging element to what they do.
  • Large factory that is set to receive big investment over the next 2 years.
  • 300+ Staff members on site.
  • Supply most Major retailers in the UK
  • High-tech manufacturing environment with a mix of old and new machinery.
  • Settled engineering team of 12+ with a good mix of electrical and mechanical skills.

Qualifications/Experience required: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

  • The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of HNC/NVQ to level 3 minimum in an Engineering related discipline, you will also ideally have completed an apprenticeship or an equivalent formal training programme in installation and maintenance that includes relevant practical experience.
