Operator/Technician

Our cutting edge systems (such as the high-altitude PHASA-35) have clear commercial value, are developed at pace and address critical customer needs.The Role:This role is for a professional technician to make, assemble and test battery packs for our unmanned vehicles. The role involves a diverse range of wiring and building tasks for a talented, flexible, and passionate technician with experience in electronics, and electrical build in manufacturing. This person must embrace the challenge of producing outstanding results on his/her own without the need for constant supervision.The ideal candidate will have a few years of experience in soldering cables, building harnesses, crimping connectors, and general hands-on skills. We expect applicants to have proven dexterity, to be quick and to enjoy building complex systems.Experience with battery systems is not required for this role but is desired.Tasks and Accountabilities:As part of this role you will be responsible for undertaking activities such as:Battery assembly, such as soldering (PCB or wires), crimping and general avionics wiring/assembly.Make and install wiring looms, circuit boards and other electronic hardware.Assemble battery frames, and other mechanical hardware.Use power tools with precision and in a safe manner.Report on Quality Control issues and managing documentation.Test and follow quality assurance procedures.Able to multitask and work in a high pressure and task-oriented environment.Required SkillsEssential Skills and Experiences:Must be able to demonstrate hands on experience in previous roles as an assembly technician, or engineering.Must be able to solder and understand basic electrical wiring.Must be adaptable and open to change to work in a fast-paced growing business.Fluent with Excel, Word.Strong focus on quality and customer pride.Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.Desirable:Previous experience doing wiring/assembly in the aerospace industry will be of additional interest.Previous experience working with Lithium-Ion cells.Previous experience working with a spot-welding machine.What We Offer We’re proud to offer a competitive package and a range of benefits designed to support your career and wellbeing, including:Location: Kidlington (Oxfordshire).Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (excluding breaks).
