Technical Business Development Manager

Our client, a leading innovator in electromechanical simulators for over 30 years, is expanding its portfolio into mechanical wear, materials testing, and orthopaedic biomechanical research. They are seeking a motivated and skilled Technical Business Development Manager to join their growing team in the Northwest, focusing on driving new business across the UK, Europe, and USA.
Key responsibilities:
- Generate leads: Identify and qualify sales opportunities within target regions and industries.
- Deliver impactful demonstrations: Showcase the unique value of the company’s highly differentiated products through compelling presentations and technical demonstrations.
- Strategic planning: Develop and execute a proactive territory management strategy to increase market share and achieve sales objectives.
- Foster client relationships: Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers by offering exceptional support and promptly addressing inquiries.
- Stay informed: Keep up to date with market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities.
- Travel globally: Represent the company at client visits, trade shows, and industry events across the UK, Europe, and USA.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–4 years of business development experience, ideally in public sector or academia sales.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, bidding, and responding to RFQs.
- Proven success in executing effective sales strategies and achieving targets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Technical expertise to confidently demonstrate equipment.
