Alexander Daniels are proud to be recruiting for a Finance Analyst on behalf of an environmentally conscious waste management businessin Wednesbury, on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Manager and working as part of a small and friendly team, the successful candidate will contribute and provide the necessary expertise to ensure the continued integrity, professionalism and effectiveness of a comprehensive finance function that meets Group and statutory requirements of control, reporting and business practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure departmental activities meet priorities, schedules, and procedures.
  • Provide business insights using KPIs, with relevant reporting and analysis.
  • Analyse profitability and efficiencies across business streams, managing cost allocations.
  • Create detailed business analysis, and proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive process improvements for business efficiency.
  • Support cost management efforts to remain within budget.
  • Assist the Financial Accountant with month-end tasks.
  • Report actuals, forecasts, and budgets to group systems.
  • Review management accounts with the Finance Manager.
  • Support in preparing forecasts and presentations.
  • Assist in audits and provide tax information.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting.
  • Aid in budget preparations and year-end reporting.
  • Prepare statutory accounts and provide departmental cover.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Economics and/or be studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with previous experience within a similar role ideally within the service or logistics industry. You must have good numerical and logical analysis skills along with strong communication skills, able to work with people at all levels of the organisation. Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint are essential along with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. French and/or German language skills and experience using Sage would be an advantage.

The salary on offer is between £35,000 and £40,000 per annum dependant on experience plus study support and performance based bonus scheme. You will be entitled to a defined contribution pension, death in service (3x annual salary), 25 days' holiday plus statutory bank holidays and hybrid working is available (3 days minimum on site).
